Editor’s Message on the Occasion of Nowruz 1402

Editor’s Message on the Occasion of Nowruz 1402. According to Iran Gate, the spring of Iran Gate began in the fall with the start of the small yet passionate editorial team of Iran Gate, defining a mission and a special task to create awareness and strive for transparency and effort to the utmost capacity. Iran Gate was born in the year 1401, a year full of news and turmoil. The year 1401 can be called the year of women.

In September 1401, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old girl from Saqqez, was arrested by the morality police and transferred to the Vozara detention center. She was then taken to Kasra Hospital, where she ultimately died. Simultaneously, as Zhina Amini was hospitalized, protests erupted in Tehran, especially around Kasra Hospital.

After three days, on the 25th of September, Mahsa Amini passed away in the hospital, and protests initially emerged in Tehran and Saqqez, then spread across the country. The protests in Kurdistan expanded and persisted more than in other regions. In the six months since the tragic murder of this young girl from Saqqez, the name Mahsa Amini gradually continued to resonate across the country and globally, turning Mahsa Amini, the daughter of Iran, into one of the influential figures on an international level.

During the protests and subsequent events, a significant amount of news, reports, media content, art, music, and video and audio clips were produced and published in media spaces and social networks. These events caused the country to experience a highly turbulent atmosphere in the past few months.

Although Zhina was arrested in anonymity and isolation in a city far from her birthplace, it was not long before the name Mahsa became familiar among a large portion of Iranians and then internationally. Today, six months have passed since the bitter and shocking incident of Ms. Zhina or Mahsa Amini’s death.

Although a relative calm seems to have returned to society, the underlying turmoil cannot be denied. However, the new year has begun, and we must wait with hope that perhaps the dawn of spring will bring small yet significant joys to continue. We sincerely thank you, who accompanied us with utmost sincerity and friendship, so that we could start and continue. We are encouraged and motivated by your presence and support. So, together and alongside each other, we remain for Iran, for freedom and development, and we will not cease our efforts and solidarity until we reach our destination. Happy Spring. May you be healthy.
