Egypt's Tourism Minister: Iranian Travelers to Sinai Peninsula Receive Visa Upon Arrival

The Egyptian Minister of Tourism states that Iranian travelers will receive a visa upon arrival in the Sinai Peninsula.

Egypt will soon allow Iranian citizens traveling with tours to obtain a visa upon arrival in the southern Sinai Peninsula.

Ahmed Issa, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, told Reuters that they are evaluating the experience of issuing visas upon arrival in the southern Sinai Peninsula as a first step, and based on that, they will determine whether to extend this type of entry permit to other areas.

This decision is part of a series of measures announced on Monday aimed at attracting tourists to Egypt at a time when the country is struggling economically and facing a severe shortage of foreign currency.

This step is also being taken at a time when some Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, are taking steps to reduce tensions.

Iran and Saudi Arabia have recently announced that they will resume their diplomatic relations.

Iran and Egypt have sometimes had tense relations, but they have never severed them.
