Eiffel Tower Illuminated in French Flag Colors on Anniversary of ISIS Attacks in Paris

Illumination of the Eiffel Tower in the colors of the French flag on the anniversary of the ISIS attacks on Paris

On the evening of Wednesday, November 11, the Eiffel Tower was illuminated with the three colors of the French flag—blue, white, and red—in memory of the victims of the ISIS attacks on Paris on November 13, 2015.

Ten years ago, ISIS attackers killed 130 people and injured 413 by attacking the entrances of the Stade de France stadium, the Bataclan concert hall, and the outdoor areas of several pubs and restaurants.

The attacks by ISIS members and supporters in France continued in the months following this unprecedented massacre.

While participating in the international coalition against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, alongside Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Germany, France was one of the main hubs for sending extremists to Syria and Iraq.
