Elon Musk’s Major Achievement

A 29-year-old disabled Neuralink patient was able to move a computer mouse by thinking and started experiencing playing chess.

Neuralink is Elon Musk’s controversial startup that produces brain-computer chips. In a live-streamed video, this startup showed how its first patient is engaging in a chess game using a chip implanted in his brain.

Noland Arbaugh, a 29-year-old Neuralink patient, became paralyzed from the shoulders down after a tragic diving accident. He managed to move the mouse pointer on a laptop screen while experiencing a chess game using Neuralink’s brain-computer chip. Neuralink’s chip aims to help people control a computer mouse and keyboard through thought.

In early 2024, Arbaugh underwent surgery, and the Neuralink chip was implanted in his brain. Last month, Elon Musk announced that Noland Arbaugh can control the mouse purely through his thoughts.
