End of the first round of negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis

According to media reports, the Saudi Arabian negotiating delegation has left the country after conducting several rounds of talks with Yemen’s Houthi militias linked to the Islamic Republic.

Agence France-Presse has reported that both sides have agreed to continue negotiations in the future and have reached a ceasefire agreement.

The first round of negotiations between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis lasted six days.

It is also planned that prisoners of war will be exchanged between the two sides today.

The International Committee of the Red Cross will oversee the exchange of 900 prisoners between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis today.

Negotiations between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis began after Tehran and Riyadh, with China’s mediation, agreed to re-establish political relations with each other.
