End of Hunger Strike by Women in Kachouei Prison

The Committee for Monitoring the Situation of Detainees has announced that 15 female prisoners in Kachouei Prison in Karaj, who had gone on a hunger strike in protest against the poor conditions of the prison and the lack of attention to their cases, have ended their strike after seven days.

According to this report, these women also had a five-minute face-to-face meeting with their families in the presence of officers on Monday, January 9.

Families have confirmed that their physical condition was good despite severe weight loss.

Armita Abbasi, Elham Modarresi, and Niloufar Kordoni were among the striking women.

Armita Abbasi’s mother has also confirmed this news on her Instagram. She thanked the head of Kachouei Prison and its staff for supporting the families of these prisoners during this time, while also protesting the bad behavior of the officers at Ferdowsi Police Station 16.
