Ensaaf News: The Religious Authorities of Qom Did Not Grant a Meeting to the Minister of Economy

The Ensaaf News website reports that the religious authorities of Qom did not grant a meeting to Ehsan Khandoozi, the Minister of Economy in Raisi’s government, during his recent visit to the city.

In the schedule attributed to Mr. Khandoozi’s Thursday visit to Qom, apart from a session with economic activists and a brainstorming session at Qom University, only a meeting with Alireza Arafi, the Friday prayer leader of Qom and the director of the seminaries of Iran, is mentioned.

The report states that Jafar Sobhani, Abdullah Javadi Amoli, Hossein Noori Hamedani, and Naser Makarem Shirazi did not grant a meeting to the Minister of Economy.

The religious authorities of Qom, in a meeting three days ago with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, had criticized the economic situation. Javadi Amoli, in frank remarks, said that if competent managers and officials are not present and the people are not active, failure is certain. Makarem Shirazi also emphasized the public’s concern over rising prices, stating that the national broadcaster does not reflect their warnings.
