Entry of Refugees to Britain via the English Channel Prohibited

Entry of refugees to Britain via the English Channel has been banned

The British government has declared it illegal for refugees to enter the country by small boats through the English Channel according to a new law announced today by the British Home Secretary.

Suella Braverman, the British Home Secretary, says this law will prevent boats that bring tens of thousands of people to this country from entering. She also mentioned that her country’s parliament will set a legal limit on the number of asylum seekers.

According to official statistics, in the past year, 2022, about 45,000 people reached Britain by crossing the English Channel. This number was about 300 in the year 2018.

Under the new law, the British Home Secretary is obligated to remove those who have entered the country through illegal routes from British soil.
