According to the Mazandaran Department of Environment, due to the coincidence of Nature Day (Sizdah Bedar) and the anniversary of the death of the first Imam of the Shiites, the entry of travelers and tourists to the Miankaleh Wildlife Refuge is restricted.

Miankaleh Lagoon is considered one of the most important wildlife habitats and is home to rare and endangered species as well as migratory water birds.
