Entry of Women Without Hijab into Cinemas Prohibited

Entry of women without hijab to cinemas has been banned

In the latest pressures on women opposing mandatory hijab, their entry to cinemas in South Khorasan Province has been banned.

Gholami, the responsible expert for cinema affairs in South Khorasan, announced that numerous meetings have been held with cinema managers in the province. He told the Young Journalists Club that in these meetings, to respect law-abiding individuals and uphold citizen rights, cinema managers have been emphasized to prevent entry of individuals who are without hijab or have removed their hijab.

He threatened that if hijab is removed during the film screening, the violator will be warned, and if they do not comply, they will be escorted out of the hall.

Previously, individuals without mandatory hijab had also been expelled from concert halls. One of the latest incidents was at Sirvan Khosravi’s concert, where a young woman got into a confrontation with security guards for not wearing hijab, and many attendees left the hall in support of her.
