Environmental Fuel Oil Burning at Shazand Power Plant Halted

The burning of mazut fuel at the Shazand power plant has been halted.

The head of the laboratory affairs department of the Central Province Department of Environmental Protection announced the cessation of mazut fuel usage at the Shazand thermal power plant.

Alireza Mehrabian stated that out of the four units of the power plant, two have been converted to gas, and one is undergoing major repairs.

He added that another unit was also taken out of production due to the lack of gas fuel allocation and the sealing of mazut.

The Shazand thermal power plant was forced to use mazut fuel from December 11 due to an imbalance in gas supply.
