Erdogan Cancels His Election Campaign Due to Illness

Erdogan canceled his election campaign due to illness

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, canceled all his election campaign programs that were previously scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday due to illness.

With less than three weeks remaining until Turkey’s presidential and parliamentary elections, which will be held on May 14th, Erdogan wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday that on the advice of his doctors, he will rest at home today.

A few hours later, Erkan Kandemir, the Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey, announced that Erdogan will attend the ceremony at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Mersin province of the country on Thursday online.

He wrote on Twitter that our election campaign in Mersin province has also been postponed to the coming days.
