Etemad Newspaper’s Report Criticizing Ebrahim Raisi’s Promises
Etemad newspaper today, in a report, examined Ebrahim Raisi’s promises about creating one million jobs and reducing the number of unemployed, stating that the new report from the Statistics Center shows the unemployment rate reached 9.7% in the winter of 2022, which is an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous three months and 0.3% compared to the winter of 2021.
In this report, Etemad newspaper wrote that these statistics indicate not only a kind of record-breaking in the unemployment rate but also that the grand promise of creating one million jobs has joined the ranks of previous promises.
In other words, from the promise of creating one million jobs in one year, only 26% has been realized, meaning 262,716 people have been added to the employed population, a number that is even less than the new job seekers. The meaning of last winter’s unemployment rate is that approximately 10% of the active population of the country — the population that can work and create added value — was unemployed.
