Etemaad newspaper’s note: Baloch musician died due to inability to buy medicine

Etemaad, in a note titled ‘The Lonely Death of Baloch Icons’, wrote that the field of culture and art in Balochistan is more overshadowed by darkness and ruin than ever before, such that in recent days, the last survivor of the famous Baloch drum players passed away in silence, obscurity, neglect, and poverty, without anyone taking notice.

Delmorad Sheklzehi, one of the last surviving famous drum players of Balochi music, passed away a few days ago in neglect and destitution because he was unable to afford his medicine, which cost only four hundred thousand tomans, in a poor neighborhood of Nikshahr called Sochenkhan, leaving this world in loneliness.

A few weeks ago, another famous Baloch drum player, Shirmohammad Balochzehi, also passed away in the same impoverished neighborhood of Sochenkhan, with a fate similar to Delmorad’s, due to illness, in silence, neglect, poverty, and complete obscurity.
