The European Union called for maximum restraint after the killing of the Hamas leader
According to Al Jazeera, after Hamas announced that Ismail Haniyeh, its political leader, was killed in an Israeli attack on the capital of Iran, the European Union urged all parties to avoid escalating tensions.
Peter Stano, spokesperson for the European Union, said, ‘We urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid escalating tensions. No country will benefit from increased tensions in the Middle East.’
