European Union Aviation Agency's Recommendation to All Airlines on Flying Over Israeli and Iranian Airspace

Recommendation of the European Union Aviation Agency to all airlines regarding flying over Israeli and Iranian airspace

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on Monday, April 15th, recommended all airlines exercise caution when flying over Israeli and Iranian airspace.

According to this organization, the issued precautionary directive applies to all transit aircraft present in the skies over Israel as well as the neighboring airspace up to 100 nautical miles around this country.

The European air safety regulator, reiterating its recommendation regarding Iran, has stated that there is still potential for increased miscalculation or misidentification in Tehran’s airspace.

According to the statement released, the Aviation Safety Agency and the European Commission will continue to closely monitor the situation to assess potential safety risks for European Union aircraft operators and are prepared to take action if necessary.
