European Union, prevent escalation of tension in the region
Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, following last night’s U.S. attacks on Iran-linked groups in Syria and Iraq, called on all parties to avoid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Mr. Borrell said at the European Union foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels that everyone should strive to prevent the situation from worsening.
The European Union’s foreign policy chief, without mentioning these attacks, warned that the Middle East is a pressure cooker that could explode at any moment.
