European Union's Supreme Court Issues Justice Court Ruling in Favor of Super League

The European Union’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Super League.

The Super League, led by Real Madrid and Barcelona, has sparked both support and opposition. Some believe that the Super League limits football to wealthy clubs, while supporters of the project argue that this league will also help smaller clubs progress and significantly contribute to the excitement of football.

After a long wait, the court’s decision was announced today, and the Court of Justice officially confirmed that the formation of the Super League is legal and that UEFA cannot prevent its establishment. This ruling could change the future of football. Now, it remains to be seen what the founders’ next steps will be.

In its initial ruling, the European Union’s Supreme Court accused UEFA and FIFA of acting unlawfully by preventing the Super League from taking place in 2021.

By allowing the formation of the Super League, the court declared that neither FIFA nor UEFA can penalize clubs for participating in other competitions.
