Evacuation of Diplomats and Foreign Nationals from Sudan Continues

The evacuation of diplomats and foreign nationals from Sudan continues.

On Monday, April 24th, the European Union, China, and Japan quickly worked to evacuate their citizens from Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Thousands of people also took advantage of the opportunity created by the reduction in fighting between rival groups to leave the country.

Several countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Switzerland, and Poland, have completely closed or suspended the activities of their diplomatic offices.

In the past ten days of military clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, each loyal to a rival general, at least 427 people have been killed and thousands injured.

Since the beginning of the conflict, tens of thousands of Sudanese and citizens of neighboring countries have fled to Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan in recent days.
