Exclusive: Iran Gate - Extensive Corruption by Thaqafi, CEO of Petro Pars

Widespread Corruption of Thagafi, CEO of Petro Pars

This case is one of dozens of cases of widespread corruption by the Thagafi gang. The DCI company’s rig was rented at an exorbitant rate of 92,000 euros per day without a tender and through secret negotiations between Thagafi, the CEO of Petro Pars, and the former CEO of DCI on one side, and Ali Daghaei, the current CEO of DCI, on the other. In the first drilling of the first well in the Bilal field, the fish was left inside the well.

The contract for the aforementioned rig was concluded when not only were all the contractual and technical aspects not reviewed, but also the necessary approvals from the transactions commission and the board of directors were not obtained. The contract was entirely one-sided and in favor of the contractor, Mr. Thagafi’s former company, with an exorbitant fee for the CEO of Petro Pars. However, oversight bodies continue to turn a blind eye to these multi-million dollar violations.
