Execution of a drug trafficker by Singapore

Tangaraju Suppiah was found guilty and sentenced to death for drug trafficking in a case involving the transport of one kilogram of cannabis from Malaysia to Singapore in 2013.

Human rights activists say there was little evidence against him, while Singaporean authorities stated that he received a fair trial.

Although he was not caught during the drug delivery, prosecutors claim that he was responsible for coordinating it, and evidence linked two phone numbers used by the delivery person back to Tangaraju.

Singapore has some of the toughest anti-drug laws in the world.
