Explosion in one of the refinery furnaces in Bandar Abbas

An explosion and fire in one of the furnaces of the Aftab Oil Refinery in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on Thursday, March 8, resulted in several deaths and injuries.

The ISNA news agency, quoting people and staff present at the Aftab Oil Refinery in Bandar Abbas, reported that this incident resulted in several deaths and injuries, but the exact number of these individuals has not yet been released.

At the same time, the public relations officer of this refinery stated that no serious damage was inflicted on the facility and staff in this incident, and only two personnel sustained minor injuries and were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

This incident occurred after one of the Aftab oil refinery furnaces caught fire during maintenance work.

The Aftab Oil Refinery company is introduced on its website as the largest private refinery in the country and a producer of oil derivatives.
