An explosion occurred in one of the oil refinery furnaces in Bandar Abbas.

An explosion and fire broke out in one of the furnaces of the Aftab Oil Refinery in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, on Friday, March 6, leaving several dead and injured.

ISNA news agency quoted people and employees present at the Aftab Oil Refinery in Bandar Abbas as saying that this incident resulted in several deaths and injuries, but the exact number of these individuals has not been disclosed yet.

At the same time, the public relations officer of this refinery stated that no serious damage was done to the facility and employees in this incident, and only two personnel sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

This incident occurred after a fire broke out in one of the oil refining furnaces of the Aftab Oil Refinery during maintenance work.

Aftab Oil Refinery company is introduced on the website of this facility as the largest private oil refinery in the country and a producer of petroleum products.
