Extension of Iran's Sanctions Waiver for COVID-19 Related Goods

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today, Wednesday, June 14, July 14, issued a directive extending the waiver of COVID-19-related transactions for Iran from sanctions for another year.

On June 10 last year, the U.S. announced that conducting certain necessary transactions to combat COVID-19 was permitted until 12:01 Eastern Time on July 17, 2023, corresponding to June 27, 1402 in the Iranian calendar.

In its statement today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has declared the same transactions announced last year to be permitted until July 14, 2024, corresponding to June 25, 1403 in the Iranian calendar.
