Farah Pahlavi by the Haft-Seen Remembering the Flood Victims

Farah Pahlavi beside the Haft-Seen, thinking of the flood victims

Farah Pahlavi, the last queen of Iran, wished a happy Nowruz on Instagram and wrote, ‘In these moments, beside the Nowruz Haft-Seen, I am thinking of the flood victims in Sistan and Baluchestan who are starting the new year in difficult conditions. I am thinking of the brave women and men who are imprisoned for their pursuit of freedom, patriotism, and justice, and of all the mothers who have lost their beloved children in the path of freedom and the pride of our homeland.’

In the continuation of this Nowruz message, accompanied by images of Nowruz celebrations among various Iranian ethnicities, she added, ‘But do not forget that we Iranians have always been able to overcome hardships throughout our history by standing firm on our rich culture and relying on our determination and national solidarity. Celebrating Nowruz and other Iranian traditions has been one of the important ways we have resisted invaders and occupiers.’
