Farzaneh Fasihi won the gold medal

The gold medal in the 60-meter indoor athletics event at the Asian Championship hosted by Kazakhstan went to Farzaneh Fasihi from Iran.

This 30-year-old Iranian athlete crossed the finish line faster than her competitors in the 60-meter final with a record time of 7.28 seconds to stand on the champion’s podium.

She performed the famous bowing gesture against her defeated but renowned Kazakhstani rival, similar to what American Justin Gatlin did against Jamaican Usain Bolt.

In the preliminary round of this competition, Ms. Fasihi also advanced to the final as the top competitor with a time of 7.23 seconds, breaking the national record that she herself held.
