Fayaz Zahed: Ahmadinejad’s government was a national disaster, but its record is far superior to Raisi’s government.
Fayaz Zahed, a reformist political figure, commented on the performance of the thirteenth government in the past year, stating that Raisi’s government is a hollow one. It did not come to power based on merits and the will of the nation, but rather through the will of hidden powers in Iran. By hidden powers, I don’t even mean the institutions close to the Supreme Leader’s office. Currently, power in Iran exists in a mafia-like structure.
The identity of Raisi’s government is linked to Ahmadinejad’s followers, and Iran is facing Ahmadinejad’s third government. However, in terms of managerial strength, Ahmadinejad’s record is better than Raisi’s, even though Ahmadinejad’s government was a national disaster.
Since the government did not come to power based on the will of the majority of the people, one cannot have expectations from them. In fact, in a healthy society with fair competition and elections, someone like Ebrahim Raisi could never become president.
