FBI Begins Investigation into Election Cyberattacks
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced that it has officially started investigations into hacker attacks on the campaigns of both U.S. election rivals, as well as a cyberattack on Roger Stone, one of Trump’s notorious advisors.
While the hacking of Trump campaign staff emails had been reported earlier and the stolen documents were emailed to well-known American publications, the Harris campaign did not comment on these investigations and stated that they are not yet aware of any hacking of their internal systems. The situation may become a bit sensitive for the Trump campaign since the stolen documents concern the background of Trump’s vice-presidential candidates, which were gathered to assess their qualifications and any potential criminal records.
The documents contain matters related to Vance, and they have now been sent to well-known publications. These publications have not yet taken action to publish these matters.
Iranian hackers are suspected in the hacking case of the internal system of Trump campaign staff, although naturally the FBI has not made anything official regarding this.
