FBI: The Islamic Republic uses Telegram for cyber attacks
The cyber division of the FBI, the Federal Police of America, issued a warning on the social network X, stating that the Islamic Republic uses Telegram as a command and control (C2) infrastructure in cyber operations.
The warning states that cyber activists affiliated with the Islamic Republic use this method to transfer malware to the computers and smartphones of opponents and opposition groups around the world, an action that, according to the FBI, is aimed at accessing information and damaging the credibility and reputation of these individuals.
The FBI has also published a multi-page text and graphic attachment detailing the technical workings of hackers linked to the Islamic Republic on the Telegram platform.
