Farman Moradi, a renowned maker of traditional Iranian instruments, has passed away

Farman Moradi passed away at the age of 77

He was born in 1947 in Kermanshah and began his artistic career in 1970 at the Center for the Preservation and Propagation of Music

Mr. Moradi was the head and instructor of the instrument-making workshop at this center and benefited from the guidance of musicians and performers such as Dariush Safvat, Ahmad Ebadi, Saeed Hormozi, and Yousef Forutan in crafting Iranian instruments

The scientific guidance of Nour-Ali Elahi, a prominent tanbur player, helped Mr. Moradi have a specific model for making this instrument

He left behind a book titled ‘Sooz va Saaz-e Eshghi’ as a legacy, which is about the art and life of his mentor Mohammad Navaei, known as Eshghi, and was published by Nashr Tasnif
