FIFA’s Approval for Payment of Iran’s Claims

The Secretary General of the Football Federation succeeded in obtaining initial permissions from FIFA for the transfer of blocked funds before the start of the 2022 World Cup.

Hassan Kamrani Far, the Secretary General of the Football Federation, attended the recent FIFA meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, as the representative of Iran’s national team. This meeting included representatives from teams participating in the 2022 World Cup. He was there to receive information regarding participation in the most important football tournament of the year and to discuss the latest situation of the Football Federation with FIFA officials. After returning from his trip to Switzerland, the Secretary General of Iran’s Football Federation shared the results of his discussions with FIFA leaders with Mirshad Majedi, the acting head, and the board members in informal meetings. During these discussions, he announced that FIFA had given the green light for the payment of part of the Iranian Football Federation’s claims through various banking channels before the start of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
