Fire in Tehran’s Aluminum Passage was contained without casualties
Following the fire incident in the Aluminum commercial building on Jomhouri Street in Tehran, the head of the Safety Committee of Tehran City Council stated that this building requires immediate demolition and reconstruction.
According to Jalal Maleki, spokesperson for the Tehran Municipality Fire Department, at 05:35 this morning, a fire in a commercial building on Jomhouri Street was reported to the fire department. The incident started on the seventh floor of a commercial complex in a 15-square-meter home appliance repair shop and spread to the upper floors.
Reports indicate that the incident resulted in no casualties or injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the early morning hours when the commercial units were closed. However, due to the presence of a fire alarm system and an on-site firefighter, the fire was contained within the first few minutes.
Mr. Babaei, pointing out that the Aluminum Passage is still considered a high-risk building, said that the fire suppression system in this building is in the final stages of installation, but its seismic evaluation is rated as category D, and it requires immediate demolition and reconstruction.
