Following the Sexual Assault by Several Iranian Athletes in Korea, It Was Revealed the Arrested Coach Lacks Coaching Credentials

Following the sexual assault by several Iranian athletes in Korea, it was revealed that the arrested coach does not have a coaching certificate.

Rooznameh 24 published a document related to the sexual assault allegation against Iranian runners in South Korea, showing that the arrested coach in this case did not have a valid coaching certificate, and generally, the Athletics Federation took coaches to the South Korean competitions who did not have valid coaching certificates.

According to the announcement by the acting secretary general of the Athletics Federation, issued on April 20, 2025, all coaching cards that are more than three years old are considered invalid, and coaches must participate in retraining courses to renew their cards.

Rooznameh 24 claims to have verified information that the head coach of the national athletics team and the coach of one of the accused in the sexual assault case of Iranian athletes in South Korea were subject to this restriction and did not have valid permits at the time of dispatch.

Rooznameh 24 wrote in another report that during this sports trip, 7 security personnel and 2 provincial board heads without coaching certificates also accompanied the team.

Additionally, Ehsan Haddadi, the head of the Athletics Federation, left South Korea before the news became public.
