Food Prices Drop in Hamshahri: Rice, Oil, Meat, Chicken, and Eggs Have Become Cheaper

The price of food items in Hamshahri has decreased; rice, oil, meat, chicken, and eggs have become cheaper.

Hamshahri newspaper, quoting Ghasemali Hasani, the secretary of the Tehran Food Wholesalers Union, claimed

The price of imported legumes has decreased by 25% in the past month.

The price of various types of Iranian rice has decreased by 15,000 to 25,000 tomans since the beginning of August.

The government issued an order on August 8 for a 10% to 20% reduction in oil prices to factories, and currently, this price reduction is being implemented at the wholesale level by up to 10% and at the retail level by up to 20%.

In the past two months, the price of red lamb meat has decreased by up to 30%, and chicken has been sold for a long time below the government’s announced price ceiling.
