Foreign Minister’s Warning to the Parliament
In today’s parliamentary session attended by Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister, the lack of proper understanding by some representatives regarding the negotiation conditions and the existing realities in the diplomatic talks led to relatively harsh stances that caused the minister’s displeasure, prompting him to leave the meeting in discontent. It is heard that Amir-Abdollahian told the representatives that there is no guarantee of acceptance for the Islamic Republic’s proposal by the opposing parties. Apparently, after these tense discussions, some representatives reportedly stated that if an agreement is reached, there is no need for parliamentary approval, which was circulated on social media.
Iran’s Request to Revive the JCPOA
Now we have to wait for the Western response to Iran’s proposal. It seems Iran is asking for a 120-day verification period with the implementation of certain commitments and economic openings until the time for the final agreement by the parties arrives. Additionally, a list of Iran’s demands for the 120 days has been provided, which includes the following:
Revocation of three of Trump’s executive orders
Removal of 17 banks from sanctions
Lifting sanctions on 150 institutions, including the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order
Sale of 50 million barrels of oil over 120 days. It seems that the sale of 50 million barrels of oil over 120 days pertains to the oil stored on water, which cannot be sold due to sanctions.
Release of American prisoners in exchange for Iranian prisoners
Exemption of foreign companies from sanctions in case of U.S. withdrawal
Release of 7 billion dollars from South Korea
