Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Negotiations with the US Will Not Be Direct

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that negotiations with the U.S. will not be direct.

Ismail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, reiterated in today’s press conference on Monday, August 3, that Iran will not have direct negotiations with the United States.

In response to a question about the new mode of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, he noted that currently, there are no inspectors from the agency present in Iran and stated that one of the agency’s officials will visit Iran within the next 10 days.

Mr. Baghaei commented on the diminishing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the three European countries, saying that these countries have no legal or moral right to misuse the snapback mechanism to reinstate sanctions.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson described David Lammy, the British Foreign Secretary’s remarks as political and interventionist, stating that he is not in a position to cast doubt on the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
