Foreign Nationals Do Not Have Permission to Street Vend in Tehran

Foreign nationals are not allowed to street vend in Tehran

Continuing the extensive restrictions on foreign nationals in Iran, the CEO of Tehran’s Job Organization Company announced that any street vending in public places will be legally addressed, and foreign nationals are not exempt from this law.

Previously, the deputy police commander had also declared employing unauthorized foreign nationals, buying and selling property or vehicles to them, and their involvement in activities such as security work as criminal offenses.

Saeed Beigi, the CEO of Tehran’s Job Organization Company, added in an interview with IRNA on Wednesday, September 26, that it is inappropriate for unauthorized foreign nationals, who do not have legal permission for Iranian citizenship, to move around the country and use our national resources; we do not allow them to do this.

According to Beigi’s statements, foreign nationals who have legal citizenship in the country can apply for a booth for their business, and in such cases, this opportunity might be provided to them.

It is noteworthy that the country’s chief police commander announced in September the expulsion of two million unauthorized foreign nationals from the country by the end of 2024.
