Forensic Medicine Organization: More than 10,000 People Died in Accidents in the First Half of This Year

In the first half of this year, more than 10,000 people died in traffic accidents, according to the Forensic Medicine Organization.

The Forensic Medicine Organization of Iran announced that in the first half of this year, from the beginning of Farvardin to the end of Shahrivar, 10,720 people lost their lives in traffic accidents.

According to this organization, in the first six months of this year, more than 8,000 of the traffic fatalities were men and over 2,000 were women.

The Forensic Medicine stated that this number has increased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year, 1401, when the death toll was 9,904.

According to Forensic Medicine, the number of injured people also saw a 3.7% increase in the first six months of this year, with more than 201,000 people visiting medical centers during this period.

Many experts believe that besides human factors, the low standards of domestic vehicles in this country have led to an increase in fatalities. Iran still has one of the highest fatality rates in this area compared to many countries.

On the other hand, estimating the damages from accidents is not very easy, but some estimate it to be thousands of billions of tomans annually.
