The former CEO of Bank Saderat says this year’s inflation will reach 50 percent.
Ahmad Hatami Yazdi states that when there is a large volume of liquidity in society and people use this money to shop, if the production or import of goods has not increased, a lot of money is chasing a small amount of goods. This situation leads to an increase in the inflation rate.
Typically, liquidity increases peak in the last quarter of the year, mainly because at the end of the year, they want to pay salaries and bonuses to employees, retirees, and workers, causing expenses to rise.
The government does not have a budget, so it is forced to print money. As a result, the increase in liquidity in the last quarter of the year could be equivalent to the first half’s 23 percent. Under these circumstances, I expect this year’s inflation to reach 50 percent.
