The former manager of Kayhan Islamic Republic wants to set people against each other over mandatory hijab
The former chief editor of Kayhan newspaper criticized the government’s mandatory hijab policy, stating that the Islamic Republic wants to set people against each other to enforce this policy
On the evening of Tuesday, April 11th, Mehdi Nasiri said at the Night of Power ceremony for reformists, ‘Look at how the Islamic Republic is setting the city on fire for a mere handkerchief. Mandatory hijab has no strong religious or logical basis, yet the regime is determined to set people against each other over this issue.’
This political activist’s remark about the lack of strong religious and logical reasons for mandatory hijab comes while the leader of the Islamic Republic claimed a few days ago that removing the hijab is a religious and political sin.
