Ali Khosravi, a former member of the Referees Committee of the Iranian Football Federation, explained in an interview that Alireza Faghani’s removal from the list of domestic referees was an opportunity for him to be noticed by Collina. Additionally, the European Football Federation, considering Faghani’s refereeing style, granted him permission to participate in international competitions.
