France in Europe should neither follow the US nor Beijing over Taiwan

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, who has returned from a trip to China, urged the European Union in an interview with a French economic newspaper not to follow the policies of the US and China regarding Taiwan.

He further stated that our priority is not to align with others’ agendas around the world, emphasizing the importance of not entering the current global divisions.

China’s military exercises around Taiwan were conducted just a few hours after the visit of Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, and Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, to Beijing.
