A court in France has issued an arrest warrant for the President of Syria on charges of complicity in crimes against humanity in chemical attacks in the country in 2013

According to the French news agency, Assad has also been found guilty of complicity in war crimes against opponents of his regime. International warrants have also been issued for the arrest of Maher al-Assad, Bashar’s brother, who played a role in war crimes in Syria as the head of the Fourth Armored Division during the widespread crackdown on Syrian opponents

This warrant was issued by the judges of the Center for Crimes Against Humanity at the Paris Judicial Court
