French President: The European Union is ready to take more restrictive measures against Iran

The President of France says the European Union is ready to take further restrictive measures against Iran.

The President of France states that the European Union and its allies should expand sanctions against Tehran’s missile and drone program following the Islamic Republic’s attack on Israel.

Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday, before the start of the European leaders’ meeting to decide on increased pressure on Iran, that it is our duty to expand these sanctions.

A draft statement from the 27 members of the European Union, seen by Reuters, states that the EU is prepared to take more restrictive measures against Iran, particularly in relation to the drone and missile industry.

According to the draft statement, the European Union leaders will also unequivocally condemn Iran’s attack and reaffirm their commitment to Israel’s security.

The unprecedented drone and missile attack by Iran on Israel was met with the defense forces of Israel and its allies, and according to the Israeli military, 99% of the projectiles were intercepted and destroyed.
