Gas cylinder explosion at Tehran’s East Bus Terminal leaves 6 dead and 1 injured

According to Mehr News Agency, Tehran’s emergency services reported that a fire around 1 PM on Thursday in a container in the dormitory section of the East Terminal resulted in 6 fatalities, and one person was transferred to the hospital after initial treatments.

Meanwhile, IRNA News Agency, quoting the spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department and Safety Services, reported that the fire occurred at a construction workshop near Yasini Highway.

However, in November 2009, Vali Azarvash, the CEO of Tehran’s Terminals and Park-and-Ride Organization, announced the opening of the drivers’ dormitory at the East Terminal and stated that the construction of this dormitory was aimed at reducing accidents caused by drivers’ fatigue.
