General Amnesty for Students and Academics Announced

The general amnesty for students and academics has been announced.

The Deputy Minister of Culture and Social Affairs of the Ministry of Science, in a letter referring to the amnesty and reduction of sentences for many of the accused and convicted in the recent riots by the leader of the Islamic Republic, requested Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, to make extra efforts to ensure that accused and convicted students and professors benefit from the leader’s compassion.

With the approval of the Minister of Science, a letter was also sent to the heads of universities, higher education, and research centers, stating that in coordination with the heads of universities, judicial authorities, and heads of the judiciary, the mentioned compassion and forgiveness should also be extended to the disciplinary rulings of the universities.
