Commander Bagheri’s Sarcastic Remark to the European Union: Seize All My Assets and Use Them to Buy Coal
Commander Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, issued a message in response to the European Union’s sanctions, stating: The European Union placed my name on its sanctions list four days ago due to what it calls the delivery of drones from Iran to Russia. Previously, on November 4, 2019, the U.S. Treasury Department made a similar mistake by including my name in its sanctions list.
The anger of the U.S. and its follower, the European Union, is understandable. Since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, they have placed the Islamic Republic’s armed forces on the sanctions list. However, our armed forces have turned this threat into an opportunity.
If there was a time when they withheld even barbed wire from our fighters, today they line up to purchase precision missiles and Iranian drones. In reality, it is these Europeans who, by following the dead-end path of their master, the U.S., have fallen into the trap of self-sanctioning against the truth.
We have a saying in Persian that goes, ‘The blind leading the blind,’ or as the English say, ‘The blind leading the blind.’ But I have a humanitarian suggestion for the European Union: From today, I authorize them to implement the sanctions they have prepared. They are permitted to identify and seize all the assets and properties of Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri in banks around the world and use them to buy coal for European citizens. A harsh winter is coming.
