German Chancellor: The US and Israel Have No Clear Plan to End the War with Iran

The German Chancellor says the US and Israel have no specific plan to end the war with Iran.

Friedrich Merz, the German Chancellor, warned at his press conference in Berlin that the continuation of the US and Israel’s war with Iran without a joint plan could have dangerous consequences for the security and economy of the region and Europe.

Friedrich Merz, the German Chancellor, expressed concern about the ongoing war between the US and Israel with Iran, stating that it seems the two countries do not have any joint plan to quickly and convincingly end this conflict.

Mr. Merz, at a joint press conference with Andrej Babiš, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, said the US and Israel have been at war with Iran for more than a week. We agree with many of the objectives, but each day the war continues, more questions arise, and he added that we are particularly concerned that apparently there is no joint plan for a quick and convincing end to this war.

The German Chancellor emphasized that Germany and Europe have no interest in an endless war and clarified that his country has no desire to undermine Iran’s territorial integrity, independent existence, or economic capabilities.

He warned that the US and Israel’s military operations should not lead to the bitter experiences of Libya, Iraq, or other countries in the region and added that this could affect our security, energy supply, and even the issue of migration.

Merz concluded by emphasizing the need for a stable Iran and said the world needs a stable Iran capable of sustaining itself as part of a regional peace and security system in which Israel and other partners are not threatened, and Tehran has abandoned its nuclear programs and renounced terrorism.
