German Defense Minister: The German government is also considering restricting arms shipments to Israel

The German Defense Minister says the German government is also considering limiting the supply of weapons to Israel.

Following the official confirmation of reports on the halt of ammunition supply to Israel by the United States, news from Germany, one of Israel’s biggest supporters, also indicates that they are reviewing the limitation of weapons supply to Israel.

Boris Pistorius, the German Defense Minister, said he understands the Biden administration’s decision to limit weapon supplies to Israel, and the German government is also reviewing this matter.

Mr. Pistorius, on the evening of Thursday, May 20th, stated that discussions on this subject are happening behind closed doors and added in the ‘Today Magazine’ program on Germany’s Channel Two, ZDF, that the responsibility for this lies with the Chancellor and the Foreign Ministry.

The German Defense Minister also emphasized that his country still urges Israel to exercise restraint, adding that what is currently happening is not good for the region and, primarily, for the suffering people of Gaza.
