German Foreign Minister Calls for Immediate Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz

The German Foreign Minister called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Johann Wadephul, the German Foreign Minister, announced that in a phone conversation on Sunday with Araqchi, he called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the abandonment of Iran’s nuclear program, stating that his country supports a diplomatic solution to resolve the ongoing crisis.

The German Foreign Minister wrote on the social network X that he emphasized Germany’s support for a negotiated solution. He added that as a close ally of the United States, they have a shared goal: Iran must fully and verifiably abandon nuclear weapons and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The German Foreign Minister also stated that this position aligns with the requests of Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State.
